THE FOUNDATION FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING

The Foundation for Independent Living is a private, not-for-profit, community-based independent residential living program for adults with learning disabilities.  It was created in 1986 by a group of parents dedicated to establishing a program which could enhance their children's journey into the adult world; a place where they could continue to grow and thrive.

The program is located in beautiful South Florida and is integrated into a modern, fully-equipped apartment complex.  It is conveniently located near shopping, public transportation, recreational facilities, and educational programs.

Applicants to the Foundation are usually people who have completed their special education or who want friendships and additional social opportunities.  They are interested in growth and gaining independence as adults.
